Copyright in a book or work

There is no law today that obliges a writer to register the copyright in a book or any other creative work. For many years it has been taken for granted that the person who wrote the work is its author and owner, and is therefore free to dispose of it at his own discretion. In practice, however, everything is decided by the registered copyright in the book. The whole procedure is carried out according to the regulations and the rules, which is why the certificate you receive is fully legal.

Copyright arises at the moment a work is created in an objective form and does not require any formalities to be observed. As practice shows, however, situations quite often arise in which you have to prove your rights or, for example, your co-authorship.

In Ukraine every author has the right to formalise and register a written book or work as an object of copyright. The service covers literary works first of all, but it applies to other kinds of material as well.
